Spread Betting

Spread betting is a type of gambling activity in which the gambler has to pick a 50-50 chance bet in order to win the bet.

There are currently two types of spread betting bets. One type is the sports spread betting which has been around for quite a while and is mostly common on horse bets, basketball and baseball. The second spread betting type is the financial spread betting which is rather new and mostly common and popular in the United Kingdom where it is also regulated and licensed and tax free.

These two type of spread betting are available online in various gambling platforms whereas both are related to live score betting where the gambler is placing a bet based on live feeds and can see the result of the bet in real time.
The financial spread betting type is gaining more and more popularity as it allows leveraging of financial bets and this means that instead of investing thousands of pounds in a single investment in the stock market, you can now place a small 50 pounds bet and make thousands of it.

Both type of spread betting are risky as they are 50-50 chance bets which means there’s half chance you will win and half chance you will lose the bet. The financial type is even more risky as you can use leveraging and if you lose you can lose a lot of money.

In financial spread betting you can use a stop loss factor which will protect you from bigger losses than you originally planned.

The basics of spread betting is 2 margin of values offered to the gambler and the gambler has to choose whether the final result of the bet will be above or below the higher and lower margin. If the bet is won, the gambler will win the value above or below that margin, times the amount originally invested (in financial spread betting).

The spread betting type of bet is considered not that sophisticated as it doesn’t require any knowledge or tactics however there are several spread betting strategy can be used for wiser bets.
